Joe & Pam Smith's 1987 YJ Wrangler

Joe & Pam Smith's 1987 YJ Wrangler

Their YJ has the 258 6cyl with a 5-speed. It has a split Pacesetter header w/2" aluminized exhaust and Dynaflow mufflers (you'd swear its a v8). It came with a factory hardtop & they has added a soft top and bikini top, as well as a trail cover to it. Joe has done all the work in his garage which includes the following: AC (for Florida), Centerforce dual friction clutch & PP, K&N air filter, dual electric fans, 4" Pro Comp suspension w/1" ConFer shackles, boulevard tires are 14.50x35x15 Thornbirds on 15x12 aluminum Crager rims, trail tires are BFG 12.50x35x15 on 15x8 AR steel rims, Hella lamps, dual CB's (one is portable).

They have been from the home turf of the Ocala National Forest to the sacred mountain trails of Tellico NC, to the sandy beaches in Florida, and by far is the most fun vehicle they have owned.

Their 4-month old daughter Sierra has already been taken to the trails twice, and doesn't complain.

The picture is taken in the Ocala National Forest, on one of the many motorcycle trails in the area.

Ryan Murphy's 1991 Wrangler Ryan Murphy's 1991 Wrangler

Ryan Murphy's 1991 Wrangler

Ryan's YJ has the 4.0L w/5-speed. The 2-inch Con-Fer shackles give him just enough room for 32x11.50 Mud Terrains. He has an 8000# Warn winch that is used more on friends Toyota trucks than on Jeeps. Current finances have stopped many upgrades, but he is looking forward to doing a shackle reversal, then possibly a body-lift, until he has the funds for a spring-over.
