"I pulled off all the gold trim to give it a more unique look and added red pinstriping in
place of the gold I also pulled of the V-8 logo on the back so its a sleeper in disguise. Most
people think its a 6-cylinder til I start it up and the 5.9 litre exhaust kicks in. It's a nice
upgrade for a 5.2 litre. I have installed Rancho RS9000 shocks w/in cab controller and custom
mounted the air compressor in the old air filter box w/filter still in it to protect it. The
Turbo City dual filter charger kit is definitely sweet and adds a tuff look to the engine. I
put in a yellow top deep cycle Optima for the Warn Custom Combo mounted XD900i winch w/roller
fairlead and dual front tow hooks. I also have the accessory kit with extra straps and chains.
I've installed a Teraflex 1.5" budget boost w/ their quick disconnects. This Jeep has 3:73
gears w/a limited slip rear / ARB front and was bought for a daily driver and to pull his sister
jeep (Lulubelle the Wrangler) to and from the trailhead when I don't want to drive the Wrangler
a long distance. The key to keeping a Jeep running as long as mine is strict maintenance and
finesse...also I've been running synthetics in it since day one.
All I can say is Toyota and Honda owners eat your hearts out, because this Grand has 242,000
original non-rebuilt motor miles. Thats no lie." - Jake

Keith Cox' 1997 Cherokee
Keith purchased this Jeep and wore-out the stock tires off-road in 3
months, so he installed 235/75R15's. Since then, he's been through lots of mud,
snow, up and down hills, and all over the Eifel region of Germany. He's stationed
there with the US Air Force, and there's not alot of "legal" 4 wheeling there.
His XJ has a 3" Skyjacker kit with front sway bar disconnects, a nitro steering
stabilizer, and he has removed the rear sway brace (it was cutting
into his tires due to the lifting blocks).
"I'm very pleased with the flex I get now, and even though I thought I would
not be into rock-crawling, I've already put it to the test. Unfortunately, you
can't fit 31x10.5x15 BFGoodrich Mud Terrains in the wheel wells of a '97 XJ with the amount of
flex I get from this bolt on kit and no sway braces connected. So, I'm
sticking with my 235's for now and I'll do 30x9.5x15's when those get worn out...soon." - Keith
