Let's see a show of hands - Who likes dead batteries in the middle of nowhere? Who can afford dual Optimas? Not many, right? Say hello to PriorityStart!, by Pro-Series. They would like to give you one less thing to worry about on the trail.
PriorityStart! is a totally automatic device that is designed for vehicles with multiple accessories.
It monitors battery voltage when the key is off, then detects and automatically disconnects any drain if the battery drops below 11.9 volts. With the load disconnected, voltage immediately recovers to its pre-drain condition, thus maintaining starting power and protecting the battery from irreparable damage. PriorityStart! then automatically reconnects by simply turning on the ignition and stepping on the brake pedal. It's that easy!
PriorityStart! installs in minutes using only 3 easy connections, and fits any 12-volt battery. PriorityStart! requires NO hard-wiring, so PriorityStart! is easily removed or transferred between vehicles. It's also totally automatic, so just install it and enjoy NOT walking home because of a dead battery.

Installation is as simple as 1, 2, 3:
- Connect the vehicle's positive battery cable to PriorityStart!
- Connect PriorityStart!'s positive cable to the positive side of the battery
- Attach PriorityStart!'s ground wire to the negative side of the battery using the included U-clip
What We Really Think
PriorityStart! is for everyone. It offers inexpensive insurance against leaving you and your loved ones stranded due to a dead battery. It's VERY easy to install, and much less expensive (and easier) than installing a new battery. The fact that it's totally automatic means that you can install one onto your spouse's vehicle (hopefully a Jeep ;-) and they'll never even know it's there...until they need it and it saves them to trouble of waiting around for a tow truck, or worse yet, asking a stranger for a "jump" and creating a potentially dangerous situation.
PriorityStart! will pay for itself the very first time you need it. The ONLY downside I see is that when/if PriorityStart! is activated due to battery drain, you need to reset the memories on your radio. BIG DEAL! You would need to do that and a lot more if your battery were dead!
Note: Car alarms can (and should) be wired directly to the battery when using PriorityStart!.
Special Note: After installing PriorityStart! on our Jeep Grand Cherokee, the PriorityStart! unit worked perfectly when tested as recommended in the
documentation - our WJ, on the other hand, did not. Our Grand's computer reset itself and would not let the engine idle properly until after it had
been driven for a few miles. After that, everything went back to business as usual. This is normal, and not a fault of PriorityStart!.
