PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer Modification

In order to use the 4.0L kit on our 1997 2.5L TJ project, we had to make the modification shown above.

Three spacers are included with the kit for raising the 4.0L throttle linkage. The 2.5L bracket is different from the 4.0L in that it has an additional mounting point as shown in pictures 1 & 2 above that needed to be removed. We used a cutoff wheel and a cordless Dremel tool.

Picture #3 shows the modified bracket installed. The WHITE arrow shows where the old "flap" was removed. The RED arrow is the old mounting location that interfered with installation. The BLUE arrow shows one of the TWO remaining spacers that were used. The linkage bracket was still well supported, even after the modification.
