The Jeep Disease

- The "Jeep Disease" -

I have it. I've had it for years. If you're reading this, then you probably have it too. Like any wayward virus, this bug gets into the blood stream and can affect the way we think, even the way we act - especially around others.

Most people appear to contract the disease early in life, possibly something handed down from father or uncle or grandfather. It seems to be most prominent in men, though some very severe cases have also been documented in women. Other people may be infected later in life - no one is immune.

Some of the more obvious symptoms can include one or more of the following:

  • Naming your Jeep
  • Talking to your Jeep
  • Caressing your Jeep (you know who you are)
  • Ever increasing spending on Jeep parts and accessories
  • Talking / thinking negatively about non-Jeep vehicles and their owners
  • Spending more time with your Jeep than with the people close to you
  • Coveting other Jeep owners' Jeep-related possessions
  • And many, many more...

If you "suffer" from one or more (or even all) of the symptoms listed above, don't fret, there is help out there in the form of therapy and support groups, commonly called "Trail Runs" and "Jeep Clubs", respectively (see also JeepBoard.com). It helps to confront your problem head-on, either by showering your Jeep with gifts and/or installing as many upgrades onto your Jeep as financially possible. Do not fear your ailment, instead embrace it fully.

Do I suffer from "Jeep Disease"? Nope - I enjoy every minute of it.
